Position Summary:
Andrews University’s School of Rehabilitation Sciences seeks a full-time Doctoral Capstone Coordinator (DCC) and Faculty Member to lead and manage the capstone component of the Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program in accordance with ACOTE standards (D.1.0 – D.1.7). This position includes teaching responsibilities and plays a key role in ensuring the integration of capstone experiences within the OTD curriculum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Capstone Leadership & Program Oversight
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the doctoral capstone experience and project.
- Teach and coordinate capstone-related courses.
- Develop and maintain capstone manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with ACOTE capstone standards and university policies.
Student Mentorship & Support
- Advise students on capstone topics, site selection, and expectations.
- Match students with qualified faculty mentors and site supervisors.
- Monitor student progress and provide support for remediation when needed.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate capstone alignment and support partnerships.
Site Development & Partnership Management
- Identify and secure capstone sites, including executing affiliation agreements.
- Provide training and resources for site mentors and supervisors.
- Sustain and expand community partnerships for student placement.
Collaboration & Administration
- Collaborate with program faculty, including the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC).
- Contribute to curriculum design, strategic planning, and accreditation processes.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in capstone education and program design.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (OTD, PhD, EdD, DHSc, etc.) from a USDE-accredited institution.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in Michigan.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist.
- Experience in doctoral capstone coordination and/or academic program leadership preferred.
- Eligible for membership in AOTA and MIOTA.
- Seventy-day Adventist preferred.
Location:
Andrews University – Berrien Springs, MI. (This is an on-campus position with required travel to capstone sites)
