Job description:
At St. David's Center, our mission is to build relationships that nurture the development of every child and family. Based in the Twin Cities West Metro, we serve more than 2,000 children, adults and families each year.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to support delivery of occupational therapy services to preschool children with ASD within a multidisciplinary autism day treatment model. Successful candidates will have 3-5 years of professional experience working with young children with special needs including children with autism spectrum disorder.

Schedule: 30+ hrs. /week, typically M-R
Pay rate: $20-25, exempt

As an OTA you will:
•Provide individual billable services, maintain daily records, and assist with assessment / goal development as delegated and with supervision of an occupational therapist.
•Collaborate with team members to integrate services across programs.
•Work within established program, payor and professional guidelines and maintain a safe treatment and work environment.
•Assist with department maintenance and supplies.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Current MN OTA License, NBCOT Certification and CPR Certification are required.

3-5 years experience in pediatric, special needs therapy is required.
Experience using sensory and motor strategies under direction of occupational therapist to support regulation, motor, adaptive and self-help skills is required.

Knowledge & Skills:
Cultural competence, strong communication and teamwork skills essential. Must possess the physical and emotional stamina required for work with young children. Knowledge of early childhood development important.
